About Courtney's

Kathy Courtney, owner and custom picture framer since 1984 is certified as a picture framer by the Professional Picture Framer’s Association.

We enter yearly framing competitions and most times are the proud winners of a ribbon. The purpose, goals and objectives of framing competition are to encourage the creativity of Association members; establish a standard of expertise and craftsmanship; to showcase individual creative flair; demonstrate art preservation knowledge; and to continually raise the standards of framing excellence and professionalism.

This silkscreen by Chris Pashke is mounted onto a raised, gold leafed platform. The bevel of the outer mat is painted gold and the entire outer mat is lifted to create dimension. Finally a water guilded gold frame with oriental detailing completes the piece.

The matting for this machine stitched welcome is hand wrapped with two layers of fabric. The first is a bright blue to match the background of the stitching and the second is a sheer gold metallic. The inner lip of the matting is finished of with a gold filet to complement the gold frame. This piece won first place in our area competition and second place in the national competition.
